(Almost) BREAKING NEWS!!!  Our 2001 Chrysalis Vineyards Viognier was awarded BEST OF SHOW - WHITE WINE at the 2002 San Diego National Wine Competition. This judging event is the largest and one of the most prestigious American wine competitions in the world. In the crowded field of 2050 American wines submitted for judging by a panel of 33 top wine experts (including four Masters of Wine), our elegant 2001 Viognier was deemed the best white wine in America! Viognier, the extraordinary Northern Rhone varietal, offers wonderful tropical, citrus and peach aromas and flavors, and with balanced acidity and alcohol, is one of the finest white wines of the world.  The promise of the alluring fragrances explodes on the palate with fruit that is clean and fresh. This wine's elegant, balanced feel in the mouth finishes with long and polished flavors. Fermented sur lie and aged to perfection in French oak barrels and presented in our distinctive antique Burgundy bottles, this Viognier represents the epitome of Chrysalis Vineyards' commitment to excellence in every aspect of the grape growing and winemaking.

Our 2000 Chrysalis Vineyards Viognier has continued in it's predecessor's footsteps by winning Best in Show in the annual Vinifera Wine Growers Association Competition, beating out almost 200 other entries.  Chrysalis Vineyards is proudly displaying the Jefferson Perpetual Wine Loving Cup in our Tasting Room. In addition our 2000 Chardonnay is a silver medal winner.
