The Activities

• Take a guided hayride tour through out the vineyard, while we tell you the story of our Locksley Estate, the home of Chrysalis Vineyards. Marvel at the beauty of the farm, see the many fields of Norton grapes, and get a true sense of a working vineyard amidst harvest.
• Let Melanie and Wilhelm Wanders pair their world class chocolates with Chrysalis Vineyard wines.
• Taste custom-made, organic honey wine-jelly, made with Chrysalis Vineyards Norton and Viognier, coming from southern Virginia’s Bees’n Blossoms.
• Sample premium artisanal biscotti from Virginia’s own Jan DeFalco, the Biscotti Goddess herself.
• Taste the difference Waynesboro’s Linda Weaver makes producing a simple cheese ball, from quality cheddar cheese.
• Sample and learn about the many olive oils, flavored oils, and wine vinegars presented to you by Keith Voight from All Things Olive.
• Stomp your feet all afternoon, to great music. What could be more fun?
• Experience the uniqueness of products from the artisans assembled, displaying the best of Virginia jewelry, copper table-wares, unique mixed media art, and custom barrel-wood furniture.

Jackass Flats

Richmond based and Chrysalis Vineyards favorite band returns for the fifth year by popular demand, to kick off and close the weekend’s bluegrass entertainment. Sharing the stage throughout the year with national acts like the Del McCoury Band, Ricky Skaggs, The Tony Rice Unit and The Sam Bush Band, they energize audiences with the kind of fun that can only be had by a group of people who are doing what they love.

Hickory Ridge

Lisa Kay Howard

Based out of Warrenton, VA Lisa Kay has been playing with an impressive string of regional bluegrass bands for almost twenty years. Lisa Kay attacks the mandolin mostly in the traditional way, a la Country Gentlemen-era Jimmy Gaudreau. She sings impeccable harmony and contributes pure, emotion-filled lead vocals. Her band features legendary musicians from DC and environs, who have known each other from the festival scene for over 15 years and always felt a musical kinship.

Based in Rappahannock County VA, the Virginia Chutney Company is owned and operated by the Turner family - Clare, Nevill, Oliver, and Christopher. Simply Cheddar

Simply Cheddar is the newest addition to the Chrysalis Vineyards lineup of quality Virginia food products sold in our tasting room and has received immediate critical acclaim from our guests. Hailing from Waynesboro, VA, owner-artisan Linda Weaver creates a “simple” cheese ball with only the finest aged extra sharp cheddar cheeses without using any processed or cream cheese. It has a little onion for bite and fresh chopped pecans on the outside for crunch. Come meet Jan in person at this year’s festival, and experience how a real cheese ball should taste.

Temalle LTD – Hand-woven African Baskets

Bolga Baskets are hand-woven by the African tribe FraFra, from Bolgatanga, Ghana and traditionally used by the women to go to market. These beautiful, premium quality baskets are made from sturdy Elephant Grass, multi colored, and a have a varied range of designs. Meet owner Mohammed Attiah, ex American professional soccer player and now owner of Temalle LTD, as he proudly displays wares from his tribe.

John Wingo - Wingo Wine Works

Craftsman John Wingo’s creative approach with used barrels from local Virginia vineyards, makes full re-use of the wood, which would otherwise be burned or thrown away. Regina Elisabeth Sattler

German born and now living in Manassas, VA, Regina Sattler has been painting since 1990 with oils, acrylics on glass and mixed media. Her Santa Fe inspired art incorporates the textures and colors of the Southwest with a more contemporary European influence and captures the fluidity on wood, as her colors and three dimensional textures come together to create her unique designs. New colors and shapes are also created by an overlapping process creating an image for her exploration of the energy and spirit beyond the corporeal world.

Reiki, Massage and Reflexology

Reiki Master, John Hunter and Elizabeth Liotta, licensed massage therapist, Reiki Master and Reflexologist – both from nearby Leesburg, will be offering relaxing 10-minute sessions of Reiki, Massage and Reflexology. Reiki is a non-invasive technique of energy work used to aid in reducing stress and to promote healing. Gift certificates for longer sessions will also be on sale.
