First impressions reveal a mélange of raspberry, cherry, nutmeg and a bit of dark chocolate. Upon imbibing these characteristics are reinforced and the firm tannins give way to more red/black fruits, along with a light floral note and an espresso finish. This wine screams for food.
Food Pairing Notes
A wine as forward as this one needs equally forward foods. Wild mushroom and mozzarella risotto cakes or wild mushroom soup will make a nice Starter. For a Main you won’t go wrong with a Lamb Kofta Curry, but for the less adventurous steak au poivre will work as well. Finish with an Autumn Spice Cake or dark chocolate truffles.
