This is a very robust, tannic, and aromatic red wine. The Tannat provides structure and acidity while the Petit Verdot offers a spice and pepper character. 11 months age in only 10% new barrels provides additional structure and a hint of oak sweetness (not sugar) while still letting the fruit be dominant. It has prominent black berry fruit on the nose and palate with a nice substantial tannin structure. For the 2019 vintage, the prominent acidity is evident which will allow this wine to age for many years.
